You deserve care that is free from stigma and judgement.

With almost a decade of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about providing counselling services to youth and young adults residing in Ontario. I work most often with individuals who might struggle with anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, personal growth, and their identity. I have a particular specialty in working with children of immigrant parents, by providing culturally sensitive services that encourage the acceptance of emotions, imperfections, vulnerability, and authenticity.

Growing up as a second generation Indian Canadian, I was always expected to live a practical life. When I was in my late teenage years, I recognized that I wanted something different for my life, but I wasn’t exactly sure what that looked like. Having made the decision to trek the Himalayas but wracked with fear, someone reminded me that we only have one life. So, with those words in mind, my heavy backpack, and anxiety lingering deep in my stomach, I began a journey that changed my life forever.

Ashley Kottoor, RP

I view therapy as a collaborative process in which we work together to unpack, process, and manage challenging experiences in an environment that is non-judgemental, understanding, and which nurtures resiliency. I work from a trauma-informed and client-centered lens, using various therapeutic approaches that best fit your struggles, needs, and strengths.

In addition to my Masters degree in Counselling Psychology, I have a certificate in Addictions Studies, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I am also a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

I am dedicated to the clients I work with and I aim to bring honesty, compassion, gentle challenges, and humour to my sessions. We are who we are for many reasons, some of which we spend our entire lives trying to find. While we can’t change the past, we can choose a different path forward with the right support. Together we will explore your personal struggles, gain a better understanding of who you are, recognize your strengths, develop coping skills, and bring clarity to life’s complexity.
